Where the Houses Bloom

A celebration of home, heritage, and the beauty of the handmade. Where the Houses Bloom is crafted from a luxurious blend of 75% nawl and 25% acrylic, then brought to life with intricate handmade Aghabani embroidery inspired by the landscapes and visual language of the Levant.

Nawl refers to a traditional loom-woven textile, valued for its substantial hand-feel, beautiful woven texture, and connection to regional textile craftsmanship. Here, its earthy grey character becomes a quiet canvas for a vibrant village of embroidered houses, trees, hills, and playful architectural forms that appears to grow from the hem.

The artwork is developed in collaboration with Levantine designers and translated into embroidery by skilled craftspeople. Because the Aghabani work is completed by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike. Small variations in the placement, density, texture, and character of the embroidery are not imperfections, but signatures of the hands that created each garment.

From the individually worked motifs to the hand-finished fringe and embroidered borders, a single piece takes more than a week to complete. The result is a limited, artisanal garment with the individuality of an artwork rather than the uniformity of mass production.

Where the Houses Bloom is ultimately a story of roots: a landscape carried on the body, where houses rise among color and thread as a reminder that home is something we carry, preserve, and allow to bloom wherever we go.
